In the spring of 1962, on 9 May, a baby came to this world that eventually grew up to a handsome man, started singing in a band and ended up changing my life forever. And that man celebrates his 54th birthday today!
Last year a man from down under asked me for swapping blank cards in an envelope...in general I reject those, but when I notice he had Depeche Mode cards for trade, my rule immediately became an exception :D And thanks to that today I can "toast" to Mr. Gahan's 54th birthday here on the blog!
Thank you Dave for all the energy and emotions ever conveyed through your or DM's songs and to the most fantastic performances on stage. However, as much as I appreciate your solo-career, nothing will ever come close to what Depeche Mode means to me :)
btw, if anyone has ever wondered the meaning behind my email address, this post may give a clue ;-)
from Gahan's last album with Soulsavers (my favourite song from it - it's what mostly resembles the darkness and beauty of DM)
Here comes like one of the coolest GF cards out there....the Black Hole one :)
and one thing is for sure - absolutely zero Postcrossing members and 000 000 people living there :)
The whole Black Hole thing is a really complex thing and I wont get into details now...however, I don't know if you are familiar with some of the recent discoveries about the gravitational waves and the sound they recorded during the collision of two black holes...that was a really big day in the astronomy world I must say...I also attended a lecture on this like a month ago or so, and this Wednesday I will be attending one held by Nagin Cox....ok, that one will have to do nothing with Black Holes and Gravitational waves, but it would be like the first time that I attend a lecture held by someone coming directly from NASA - it is like so super exciting!! She will be talking about all the rovers that have so far visited Mars, including the last one, that is Curiosity and all their findings.
Anyways, with regards to the black holes...here is how it sounds when two of them collide and become one
and that is all thanks to the gravitational waves, and if you wanna get some more technical insight into this and see a computer simulation of two black holes coliding, check out this video
Our Universe is just so never-endingly mind-blowing, isn't it?!!!
and well, this card can't go out with this super-cool-black-hole song :D
My knowledge about the birds living in Japan (or birds in general), is rather terrible - but I really like this card showing different birds living all over Japan - some of these names sound familiar, some don't - but it is a good way to learn!
Now, I won't be posting about each and every one of these individually - that would be way too much...and at first I wanted to share with you a video regarding birds living in Japan....then few days ago I came across another cool video about the history of Japan and I thought of sharing that one...until just today I came across this one, regarding the school-snack time the students have in this Japanese school....Japan really really NEVER ceases to amaze me...NEVER...I mean just look at how they treat the lunch time and how they respect food (and note down the nutritional values of it as well) and how they teach children to some values...I admire it, I really admire it!! Sooo many countries should take this as an example!! It is actually embarrassing to even think about the school lunches over here...Japan or Jamie Oliver would have way too much work to do to fix things here...
well, just spare some 9 minutes of your precious time and watch this...I promise you, you won't regret it :)
impressions? thoughts?
well of course, lets not forget the stamps...they are as beautiful as well :)
the flag stamp was issued in 1975 in a set of two, commemorating the American Tour by Emperor Hirohito and Empress Nagako (the other stamp in the set of course, shows the US flag :))
the train stamp (showing the Hikari (Light) Express Train ) was issued in 1964 for the Inauguration of TokyoOsaka Shinkansen Railway Line.
the last one was issued in 1974 in a set of 3, representing Japanese Folktales (in this case, the Kaguya Hime tale, where this stamp in particular shows Kaguya Hime as Young Woman)
so, that would be all folks for now...thank you for reading....and hope to bring you something nice again soon!
Happy Happy New Year everyone and welcome to the first blog post for 2016 (with cards from 2015 btw)!
Hope you had a great New Year's Eve (mine was more than cool I must say :P) and that after all those feasts and all you are slowly getting back to reality - I am having a hard time with that, since getting back to reality after being out of the country is always tough and this time it seems even tougher than usual....but what can I do...oh yeah, some of you already know about the whereabouts of mine for the New Years...the others will hopefully find out soon :)
And lest not forget, to all celebrating Christmas today, Merry Christmas! (I'm from that part of the world too but as you probably know, I've never really been so much into it :))
And well, even though the year has like just began and with the bunch of non-working days there have been not many chances for my postman to delight me....there are still a few gems I received last year that I can hardly wait to post around here, and one of them is right here...there ain't a better way to start the year than posting a brand new country, now is there? :D
And yep, this is my very first written and stamped card from Tajikistan!! Wohhooo!! And that's thanks to my Norwegian fairy Sissel who again took an amazing trip and sent me a bunch of cards...and oh, one of those is a real jaw-dropping for collectors :D But I will keep you in the dark for a while more...i'm not being evil, I just dont want you to get a jealousy overdose right now :D
As for the card...here you can see the Yamchun Fortress, which is probably the most impressive and eldest monument in Wakhan, built on the top of the cliff overlooking the valley. It is thought to have been the greatest defense fortification in the ancient Wakhan. (Wakhan btw is along the border of Tajikistan and Afghanistan). The fortress dated to 3-1 century BC and had thick stone walls and round watchtowers. According to a local legend, the fortress was built by kings -
brothers Qakhkaha and Zangibor. The fort played a key role on the great Silk Road leading from Pamir to Bactria, India, Iran and back, controlling the traffic, cargo and security in the region.
The fort is triangular in shape and divided into 3 sections. The first section includes citadel with bastion and barracks. This section was surrounded by wall and strengthens with round towers. Two other sections are open grounds for combat operations. Every ground was surrounded by thick stone walls and fortified by 36 towers. The outside walls are 2 meters wide while inner walls are 50-60 cm wide. The towers were built in chess order and with small negative angle to improve visibility at fortress basement. Gun slots exist both on the outside and inside walls which suppose to increase defense capability. The building materials must have been delivered from remote locations, since metamorphic rock, granite and slate rocks, biotite pieces and other forms of mica are not found in the close neighborhood.
There is a video on YouTube about this, from a man who is on spot and showing you the fort from a close view....take a look at it
the stamp is from a set of 3 issued in 2013, titled "Mobile communications of Tajikistan"
(please note the eco-label on the card...one doesn't get to see that often on postcards)
and just a random fact about this card - for some reason someone at the PO or elsewhere wrote Норвегиа under Macedonia...and that's Norway...I don't what they were thinking and how Macedonia translated to Norway, or maybe my karma is that influential :D Eventually they crossed out Norway and wrote Macedonia...but it somewhat startles me that out of all the countries in the world they could have gone wrong with, they picked Norway :P
Been writing these posts in the span of a few hours, and if I started it with, the weather is so lovely and all, we got the Apocalypse in the meantime...seriously...I went to the theatre to see a play...during the break they told us we had to leave the theatre...outside was raining cats and dogs along with a hailstorm, so my guess is the roof has collapsed...a lot of streets are flooded...but at least I got home...and then...bang!! an Earthquake!! And a rather shaky one! I couldnt help it but just started laughing...because sometimes when you are freaked out with such a sequence of events, it just comes to you to start laughing....oh my, I hope it's gonna end with this and no more unpleasant surprises...
aaand, I was actually gonna show you my two Minion cards!! Do you love these characters? Have you watched the Despicable Me cartoons? You probably should!
Though I must say I preferred Despicable Me 1 to Despicable Me 2, but still, both are really nice! And I was so excited when this girl from China had Minion cards for swap...couldnt resist it :D
аnd besides the Minions, there are a number of other lovely characters too :)
btw, do you know my Minion slippers? super cool winter footwear....and they DO keep you warm :)
ok, last for today we are going to Tokyo...another somewhat neglected country - no Japanese post since February 2012...and ive acquired a few Tokyo cards in the meantime, so here are they all...
however, before I get down to the cards, I wanted to share something with you that is somehow related...namely, two videos of a Tokyo choir singing...Macedonian traditional songs! I was just speechless when I watched these for the first time because these people DO actually sing in Macedonian..and on one hand it seems so amazing, on the other it's kinda funny..I really wonder if they do understand the words, but needless to say their pronunciation is just surprising! in the most positive way!
the first video shows them during practice, the second one is a performance on stage with the probably best Macedonian opera singer, Blagoja Nacoski, who is the one responsible for these Japanese people having the chance to learn something Macedonian. Hats down to him for that!!
this is just one of those moments when you get that fuzzy feeling in your heart..
I just admire the clarity with which they sing the words of a language that they probably never have heard before....
ok, now onto the Tokyo cards...where just each and every one of them seems to be showing the Tokyo Tower...
First is an official received back in 2010...
JP-113289
And what's the Tokyo Tower actually? - It is a communications and observation tower, which with its 333 metres is the second tallest structure in Japan.
It is an Eiffel Tower-inspired lattice tower that is painted white and international orange to comply with air safety regulations. Ill mention the bridge a bit later...
I love it how Satomi, the sender, included the vignette or whatever additional part of the stamp this is...looks amazing! It was issued in 2007 in a set of 10 stamps for the Letter Writing Day, representing Poetry and Paintings...and if I could identify it right, this one shows the waka poet Sarumaru no Dayū
the following two cards are blank, so I can just take wild guesses about the origin and year of arrival..
first one is a night view of the Tokyo Tower.....
...while the second one shows the Rainbow Bridge...a somewhat similar card to the first one, except this one shows a wider picture of the same place..even the colours are the same :)
the Rainbow Bridge is a suspension bridge crossing northern Tokyo Bay, whose construction started in 1987 and was completed in 1993. The bridge is 798 metres longwith a main span of 580 metres. Its name has been decided by the public - a good one I must say!
There are lamps placed on the wires supporting the bridge, which are illuminated into three different colors, red, white and green every night using solar energy obtained during the day.
Sounds like something the Japanese would think of :)))
and well, the last card was in my favourites for a long while and then I finally received it in the favourites tag last year thanks to Masako!
There is just something special about the perspective of the card that makes it soo appealing...not to forget the predominant dark-blue colour. Just love it!!
and Masako used to great train stamps! the left one is a locomotive from a set of two issued in 1975, showing the Class 9600 Locomotive No. 69820
. the other stamp was issued in 1977, again in a set of two, commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Japanese Underground Railway.
Well, that would be all for today folks...just four posts, but so many cards...hope you liked some of them...
Ok, since I started with bragging, let's do a bit more of it :D I guess someone's gonna hate me by the end of today :)
Anyways, as some of you may know again, I LOVE my bicycle, due to which I actually started collecting bicycle postcards. However, for a while now I've been thinking of getting a new bike cos mine feels like it is saving its last breaths sometimes to get from A to B...plus it is a mountain bike, more suitable for men...I wanted more of a girl kind of bike so I can ride it even with a skirt on...I had this idea of getting a red or a black one...until one day I saw one that captured my heart...and few months later, became MINE!! Yup, I got myself a new bike last Thursday and I so much love love love it! (Those who are on Facebook have probably seen it already :))Well, that is one of the reasons why I won't be travelling for the holidays now (so sorry, no surprise postcards from me =/) There will be other opportunities to travel and torture your mailboxes...but for now I want you to meet Hippy Happy! (yep, that's how I named it, cos it seriously, the name is just soo suitable!)
isn't it just lovely? =))))
I can hardly wait for the weather to get better so I can ride it more often...Im rather limited with all this rain and fog and stuff....ahh happiness!!
and well, as a part of the post, for pure pleasure for the bike lovers, here are a bunch of bike cards I received during this year...I think that mine is still the loveliest :P
Yup, exactly! Me + bike = happy =)
Just a few thank-yous to some of the bike-cards contributors that you've seen above...hugs to Agi, Nataša, Svea, Jolly, Natalia, Helena, Jane, Katja, Galina, Stefanie, Andrea, Ksenia, Sasha, Viktoria, Marieke, Jenny, Carmen, Karolina, Irina...
Hopefully from January on Ill go back with my new bike to the Critical mass organized here in Skopje...that's a feeling one of a kind...hundreds of bikers together on the streets of Skopje =)
Pic and video from two different I attended few months ago =) (I feel like im becoming really self-centred =)) (In case someone's interested I appear from 1:39 - 1:41 in the video)
And my last card for today is a great map card I received from my dear Sissel back in 2010.
what inspired me to post it today are the latest events at Vatican and the Pope resigning and blah blah...you know the story. Well, ok, I wont be bothering you with why's and what's about it...but just wanted to share something from Jimmy Kimmel's show...ok, I really don't know how he (or his team) gets the ideas for taking the piss on people..and I dont know if these people are really so ignorant, but boy, in front of the camera, they really want to assure you they are up-to-date with the latest news...I really want to believe all these kind of shows are set up and all this is just a previously rehearsed scenario and that all this is fake, for us to have a good laugh...well, I did at least..
wow, been so long since Ive posted a Route 66 card here! (actually ive realized that ive been overlooking some particular countries too even though i have a good number of postcards from there, so I should be working on those too..)
Anyways, this is definitely the most fantastic Route 66 Ive received! It is actually like a real metal licence plate!! Fantastic!! And it arrived undamaged and in perfect condition!
The huge thank you for this goes to dear Goran. Once he surprised me with a Route 66 magnet and now this great card/licence plate!
What I especially love about this one is how the US states through which this Route ran are represented on the both sides, with the US flag in between. And I cant forget the old-timers too...perfectly fitting in the image :)
Hvala ti puno puno puno Gorane!!
well, unless you've forgotten, since it's been a long long while, Route 66 cards are accompanied with a Depeche Mode song....this time it is one of the songs from Exciter which I constantly used to skip until I heard the live version of it on the One Night In Paris DVD...it became one of my all time favourites ever since and i got totally hooked on it...the genius called Martin L. Gore strikes once again...
Well, maybe you know I love to read...and hence, I love book cards...and they seem to be lovely nevertheless!
I wish I had a big room with many many shelves so that I could arrange all my books as I please...and so that I could buy many more books too...at this point I simply have no proper place to keep, so I often refrain from buying some....even though my heart aches to spend money on them....
I love the postcard above coz of all the different colours the book' pages have...these books seem to be older ones but that doesnt make them any less appealing...on the whole contrary....I LOVE the scent of old books! These here seem to be German books....but im not sure if I can decipher them correctly, so Ill leave that up to the readers.
the other card shows some newer books (n.b: when I speak of older or newer books, I refer to the print, not the time when the book was written/published).
This card comes from the Penguin Poetry Series...and here you can see some poetry collections by Blake, Frost, Pushkin, Goethe, Hardy...different types of verses etc. I LOVE the covers on these ones....so nice and colourful!
Currently Im reading "Excavation" by James Rollins...the book is interesting, but the Macedonian translation is simply killing me...but having no original copy and still wanting to know what this book is all about, I decided to proceed...otherwise, with such books I give up after a few pages.
Unfortunately, I dont have much time to read...and often dont have the concentration for it...so lately I mainly read on the bus on my way to work and back home (and that is, if I go by bus in the first place...when the weather is nice I prefer my bike). But otherwise, I rarely have the time to relax and read...and it is quite bothering me...
Im also one of those people who simply love real books and cant read the ones in electronic form...staring at the screen is simply tiring me..and doesnt at all have the charm which flipping through the pages of a real book has...I honestly really dont get it how people can read e-books...Im already spending way too much at the computer..I really cant nor want to read books in that manner...esp. since when I read a book I actually want to relax...and lie down in my bed...and use a nice bookmark...and e-books and e-readers, simply cant offer that, regardless how nice they have been designed to attract people.
And recently I came across this video...which reminded me of all the young people nowadays which consider reading a waste of time and who'd rather watch the movie, which would give them the story in two hours, instead bother to read 400 pages...out of my experience, movies based on books are not even close to what the book is all about...so for this reason ive stopped watching them and stick to the books only...anyways, the video I wanted to show you may seem silly in a way, but who knows, maybe it will motivate and encourage someone to start reading books and discover their magic....the video is titled 'The girl who hated books"
A FANTASTIC official card I received last year....plus it is my only official card from India so far.
IN-15325
The card shows a train running through Ooty, the "Queen of hill stations" and the capital of Nilgiris district. It is one of the most popular tourist resorts in India. Nilgiris means "Blue Mountains". The mountain train journey on a ratchet and pinion track is just another of the tourist attractions. (If I ever go to India, I definitely must put this on the agenda).
This card reminds me of the "Slumdog Millionaire" movie....or maybe the movie reminded me of the card, I dont know....but anyways...in the movie, there are certain events which revolve around a train station (in Mumbai I think), and also a length of train journeys, where there was a train EXACTLY like this on the card...so ok, I guess it was the movie which reminded me I have this card after all.
If you hadnt seen it so far, I highly recommend it...a beautiful and very touching one, with amazing haunting music which I think has been perfectly associated with the movie's actions and events...
here is the official trailer for the movie...
and some train-related scenes of course :P Sorry, but I couldnt help it :)
the bottom line is, WATCH the movie...
The stamp on the right is from a set of 3 definitives issued in 2008, while the otter stamp is another definitive issued in 2000.
Well, before I get down to any posting, first I wanna wish a very Merry Christmas to all my fellow readers, friends, passers-by, stalkers...of course, those who celebrate it today. I know this Orthodox-Cathedral difference can be confusing sometimes, but the wishes remain the same, and I hope you all will or already have enjoyed your Christmas eve and will have a nice Christmassy day tomorrow.
I belong to the second group who celebrates Christmas in two weeks, so today is just an ordinary day for me..ok, not so ordinary, coz it is Friday at last....it has been a VERY VERY busy week again, among which I again got sick and felt more than awful....I dont know if my immunity has been really affected but I seem to easily catch viruses and temperatures and just not feel like im able to move out of bed...so again, i barely had no time to do anything during the week, apart from the regular working assignments...but at least they keep m busy.
I also want to apologize for not sending Christmas cards to you this year, but I absolutely had no time to do it...and I didnt want to choose just a few people and send them one...even that would have been all rushed out...so I decided not to send any....Im really sorry for this...but hopefully next Christmas it will be better...or I will somehow make it up during the year :P
Anyways, I chose this card today coz apart from making it a good choice to address everyone around the globe and wish happy holidays, I also wanted to share something with you which is related to this big big world...I think that for every postcard/stamp collector this is something like a must see...maybe you should take a world map too and try guessing along...and guess with exact preciseness please :) And once you are done watching, you will other feel 'oh, that's piece of cake, whats all the fuss about' or 'oh boy, my geography knowledge sucks'...and compared to the 'contestant' in the video, im pretty sure that the majority would find themselves in the second category...no, this is not intended to make fun of anyone or ridicule anyone...i openly say that i myself fall into that second category too...yes...after all these years and all the postcards and letters received (plus naturally, my ability to read) I find myself into the second category.
so, here you meet Lilly...and please give her an applause...she deserves it...and she simply enjoys it when you clap your hands....she is just so adorable!!! :)
As i told you last time, my next Belgrade post will be dedicated in order I ramble a bit about the concert....what, you thought i would have forgotten and spare you from it??!! He he, sorry....
well, the concert itself was great..however, i cant say the same about the journey from Skopje to Belgrade...if Tuesday was a lovely sunny warm day, Wednesday was the cold, windy one with snow! Unbelievable! Such a rapid change in 24 hours JUST when i had to get down the road on a 450km trip....i honestly dreaded we wont get there in time. On our way, it was freezing cold outside, and the more we approached Belgrade, the worse it got...a real blizzard with a strong wind and icy roads....if you just put your head outside the window, you would encounter this totally unpleasant harsh wind blow into your face, and you would just rush back inside the car. I really wonder how out of all possible days it had to get like this on this one....
We arrived in Belgrade at 8pm, just in time...for the first time im thankful that there are other bands which perform before the main one, so that we didnt miss anything....believe it or not, i even got into the first row!! My all time dream when going to concerts is to be in the first row, and so far, I didnt manage to do it in just one....well, not coz i didnt manage, but coz my friend had to stand in the middle of the hall...which while the hall was half empty, seemed ok, but once it got full, it wasnt so ok anymore.....that was a Moloko concert...as for the rest, Depeche Mode, Placebo, Massive Attack, Kosheen, Pet Shop Boys and now AIR, had the delight of being in the very very front! Its good out of practical reasons as well...being im only 1.60, its not very convenient to stay somewhere in the back, since ill always have other people's backs in front of me, so i wont see much, or better said, I wont see anything.
As with every great concert, this one lasted too short....i wish they could play for hours and hours...they were just great on stage and for the first time I realized how awfully charismatic Jean-Benoît Dunckel is on stage.
They played some of their top songs, like Kelly watch the stars, Sexy Boy, Talisman, Remember, Venus, High School Lover.....the funny thing was, somewhere in the middle of the concert, Nicholas asked the audience if we spoke French....of course, the majority said NO...and then he said, well, since you know French, you would be able to sing the next song....are YOU ready??!! - Noooooo!!! And THEN they start playing Alpha, Beta, Gaga....now, you really need to know the song in order to get the joke :))
When i first got to know I was going to the concert, I planned to stay a bit more in Belgrade and meet up with Ana for some cheesecake, but as you could notice that was almost impossible...and on top of that I caught a cold....I just had to leave with some souvenir afterall
I loved AIR before the concert, but now they definitely climbed up on my favourites list.
here are some pictures i managed to take...not of the greatest quality, but I mainly blame the light for it..
there are no good quality video shots from the Belgrade Arena, so ill just give you a few regular AIR videos.....
and here is the Alpha Beta Gaga one...so if you know French, please sing along :)))
ok, i know you are fed up with me, but just a few words about the stamp.....it is a definitive from a set of 2 stamps issued in 2009 under the subject Art and Antique Objects and here you can see a ring from the 18th century.
Sorry for so much AIR, but they are definitely worth it, esp. since they are so underestimated as well
I know that just recently I promised I wont brag any time soon with some rare country....but then THIS arrived in my mailbox...and how could i possibly ignore it and leave it for some time later :)
And I can also classify it under my map card collection :D
Seems like a lovely place, where it is hot all throughout the year! The 'calendar winter' has only just began, and im already sick and tired of it! In summer, even getting soaked in the rain can feel nice.....which reminds me, i DO need to get a bigger umbrella...mine are mostly those which can fit into a purse or a bag...but i want one which even may not be very convenient to carry it around, at least it will cover you whole....and id love one with a transparent blue colour..i know ive seen it with some of my friends, so its not non-existent...i just need to look for it.
Guadeloupe itself is an archipelago in the Eastern Caribbean Sea, and is an overseas department of France, which also makes it a part of the European Union but doesnt actually fall under the Schengen Agreement. Which means that the visa liberalization that has been in force here since 19th December, wont really help me to travel here. Btw, im really annoyed with all the fuss and euphoria that has been created here due to this visa liberalization. They made it seem that as of now, we'd be able to travel absolutely everywhere within the Schengen Zone. I mean, POR FAVOR!! Do they deliberately avoid the financial issue?? Really....all those people who had travelled so far, will keep travelling...the visa issue doesnt play much role for them...while for the rest of us, mortal people, visa or no visa, its pointless to think about it if i dont have the required finances. Moreover, each country had imposed some rule about the proof you need to have that you have enough financial means in order to get inside the country...and they have requirements on daily basis....so if I want to go to Germany, i need to have around 40 euros per day...if i want to stay ten days, thats equal to 400 euros....if i want to go to Norway, i need 60 euros per day!!! And if I want to go to Slovenia, I need 70 euros per day?!! I mean, lets get realistic here...so stop making the visa liberalization as the greatest triumph you could have achieved. Take care of the unemployment first, increase people's salaries, and then tell me that i can travel more freely within Europe!
there is this song that has been repeatedly played on the radio lately....rather annoying one...i dont like this sort of hawaii-sound songs....but by some coincidence, the song 'arrived' along with the arrival of my postcard...and i doubt there will be any time soon an appropriate card to post the song...plus they mention Christmas as well...so here we go....
Happy Birthday Guadeloupe =)
and now the stamp....from what I read, Guadeloupe for many years now has been using the French stamps...so even though this card has a French stamp, there is no discrepancy in the postcard-stamp relation. So i can say that this card was originally sent from Guadeloupe. However, im a bit confused about the cancellation...shouldnt something Guadeloupe-related be there? Im more than sure that the lady who sent me this card, mailed it from Guadeloupe indeed, not France....but i still need some clarifications here from someone who has more knowledge in this :)
Here is a rather unusual card, but i totally totally love it! From the moment i saw it offered, i wanted to have it in my collection.
For some reason, i like cards with cemeteries and memorial centres...give me some odd turbulences on the inside...as for Bela Lugosi, this is whats written on the back: - No more tooth trouble for "Dracula", actor Bela Lugosi's most famous role, as Lugosi rests in Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City, California - we hope.....
Bela Lugosi was a Hungarian actor, born under the name of Béla Ferenc Dezső Blaskó in Lugos, outside the western border of Transylvania. He later based his last name on his hometown.
I dont think i have watched him in his movies...im not much of a movie person, and often when i watch some, im not really savvy in naming actors and actresses and stuff....so now, you may wonder, why the hell you so much wanted a card with Bela Lugosi's grave...
Well...its coz of a song...thats how i learned of Bela in the first place...and the song is a great one...called Bela Lugosi's dead.....the original version is performed by Bauhuas (Peter Murphy) but there is another great one, performed by Peter Murphy and Trent Reznor together...having in mind that i really love and respect both of them, and having in mind the itch music arises in me, now wonder i got so thrilled with this card...i immediately had the story to share on my blog :)
So yeah...not much talking about Bela and his career....but here is the song....
Trent Reznor & Peter Murphy version:
Bauhaus version....i just love this 'vinyl' thing in the video :)
the lovely stamp is a definitive issued in June 2009, from the issue series Scenic American Landscapes, where here you can see the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.
