Happy New Year 2018 and Welcome Back Here :)

*cough cough cough* (clears throat)

Well, hello hello hello out there! Oh yeah, look who's finally back! :D
You still can't believe it right? Me neither! What I esp. cannot believe is that it has been more than a year since I've done a real postcards-related post here - all those yada dada's don't count to the actual contribution to this blog, but frankly, I didn't expect that the whole Photobucket issue would end up being so demotivating in the end. But truth is, it was, cos the entire starting-things-from-scratch was so tedious, that I just never really got down to it. All the time I kinda secretly hoped that maybe Photobucket would get back to its senses and at LEAST let us unfortunate users use the photos that were already there, prior to their nonsensical decision - but of course, that day still hasn't arrived and obviously, it never will, so I just have to get over it and maybe, just maybe, one day, be able to repair the damage they had done.
But in the meantime, I guess it is time to continue this blog's sole purpose cos despite the dreadful silence here, there are still people out there who still check this place from time to time, and hope for something new. And here I would like to send special regards to my two regular bots in the form of william charles and linda clark - seems that a day doesn't go by without me getting a notification that one of you has visited one of my two blogs - you really seem to be dedicated to whatever you are doing ;-D

And lets get down to some actual business right now, with this super cute surprise that arrived in my mailbox today.

It just seems like the perfect card for this so-called 'grand entrance', plus it is holidays related, so looks perfect.
It is not signed, but based on the cancellation, I can assume who sent it to me ❤

And I just wanna wish you all Happy Holidays and a fab  year ahead. Hope life gives you health, love and lots of lovely surprises in your mailbox :)
Thank you for all the awesome cards you sent me last year - finding those surprises in my mailbox can often cheer me up even on a very shitty day, so keep them coming! :*

Season's Greetings, USA

I dont know about you, but im rather frustrated with the USPS

this card was sent before Christmas and I received it just last week.....and I have two envelopes travelling to the US, sent in the mid-December and none has arrived yet....its really annoying, especially when it comes to letters....I hate it when they get lost since re-writing them is never the same, plus it always takes me eons to do so....and I know im not the only one with the USPS problem...I see other people complaining about it as well....I just hope that my mail towards there aint lost and that it will show up sooner or later.
Well, nevertheless, I really want to thank my dear Chrissy for sending me such a lovely lovely card...she knows I love maps, so this was simply the perfect choice...it would have been a real pity if it got lost somewhere...
oh, btw...I have some news! I finally got my laptop back!! wohooo! So no more switching/sharing pc's...Im finally on my own again, and I can type it from my bed, under the blanket....I just hope there wont be any problems this time...

you are already familiar with the clock stamp...as for the other two, they are a part of a 4-set Christmas stamps issued in 2009...

Thanks for reading!

Честит Божиќ * С Рождеством * Merry Christmas

...to me and to everyone else celebrating it today! Even though I can say we are like a minority compared to the people celebrating it on 25th December, im still glad and thankful that people DID remember I celebrate it today and expressed their kind regards. Thanks everyone!!!!
Im not in a real Christmassy mood....I think that (as ive said before) the whole euphoria goes to New Year's....and Christmas is more like a calm day, spent with your family...no presents here at Christmas...no fuss...except two non working days....I really really hope dear Mr. Postman will brighten up my mailbox tomorrow....lack of mail has been making me really cranky :P

it has been a nice day....I must note that the weather outside was absolutely gorgeous! 14 degrees (yeah, few days ago we had snow...)...But it was just really nice! I also had this unfinished task to do, but I gave myself the freedom not to work today and just enjoy myself....and it felt good! Plus there is tennis :)

Today wont be a regular post day...Ill just show you the Christmas cards I had received so far....enjoy! :)

just want to point out, that cards are posted in order they were received...I dont want someone to feel wrong if his or her card is among the last or so :)

and of course, with some Christmas cards, come the Christmas stamps! I wont go into details for each and every one of them...ill just post them here for your own pleasure....and I must say that Russia never ceases to amaze me with their lovely colourful stamps! Just beautiful!!

I know there are too many images and that this post may seem über chaotic, but there was no way I could exclude any of these cards....and it only Christmas once a year...so you'll get by :)

Once again, thanks to everyone who remembers that our Christmas is not celebrated in December, but in January....it really means a lot to me!

Will be back with the regular posts from tomorrow on, so stay tuned!

But i didnt want to miss the opportunity and wish a Merry Christmas to all those people who, like me, celebrate it today, the 7th of January. I hope its a great day for you, spent with your loved ones in a nice cosy atmosphere....may all of you be blessed with warmth and happiness in your hearts!

Christmas Cards, part 2

Ok, i cant make a regular update today, but i still needed to post something...for several reasons :)

First of all today something amazing happened and i have to share it with you...ok, i admit i have to brag with it as well, but i think that if you people dont understand the feeling that all those non-postcard collectors, certainly wont :)
Today being Sunday is a no mail day (i know that in many countries there is no mail on Saturdays as well...luckily, we dont fall into that group :))
Anyway, being a Sunday, the last thing i expected was to have mail...but my dear postman went against all odds and made me feel delirious! He brought me mail on a Sunday!! LOTS of great mail!!!! I absolutely adore him for this!! He is the greatest postman ever!!! To even add to it, there is soooo much snow outside that you can barely walk, but he worked today and brought me mail!! Yay yay yay yay!!! Ive been feeling soooo high all day long coz of that!! And it wasnt just mail...it was 15 postcards and 3 Christmas cards!! An absolute delight!!! I am so enormously thankful to him...even though its his job actually, im still sooo thankful for coming today...I just feel sorry that he had to go through such weather conditions...i think that it contributes a lot to the overall significance this has for me!! Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank YOU!!!!  My first mail in 2009 comes in such a great and totally unexpected way!
I truly wish that something like this or at least something similar happens to you as well...the feeling is one of a kind....and my postman is one of a kind :)))

Well, i know that i said that if i receive some additional Christmas cards i will add them to the original post...but now i find it somewhat inappropriate....coz frankly, what are the odds that you actually go to the post and see if there is something new...plus, since i want to again commemorate the enormous amount of snow we have outside, these cards just feel perfect for it, instead of posting a card which isnt truly eligible to be posted :)

So here are the 3 Christmas Cards I received today....

from Tanja in Germany

from Przemek in Poland

from Sietse in The Netherlands

and, of course, stamps :)

GTKY Christmas Cards

Hello Hello Hello! For the first time this year :)
Hope you have had a nice New Year's eve and that this year had a great start....mine was nice, just that it seems that i cant get enough sleep in general :)
Do you people make New Year Resolutions? I try not to, but ive made some this year, and i hope ill have the strength to stick up to them...and if you made resolutions as well, im wishing you all the necessary strength in the world so you keep up with them...*fingers crossed* :)

Well, enough chit-chat, lets show some stuff here...as its most convenient, i think, this is the time to show Christmas related stuff, no? So thats why todays posts will be all Christmas related

The first one is dedicated to the Christmas cards received through the GTKY thread....we arranged there with the ladies a nice Christmas Flamingo :) We were supposed to send each other Christmas cards, but with some rules applied...the cards HAD to be handmade and they had to have a quote/poem inside...so even though im totally anti-artistic, i decided to join, coz i knew if i didnt i would regret it...and im more than pleased to have done so....maybe my art skills suck, but what mattered eventually is the friendship...as we say, the cards were made with love, friendship, glue and paper :) So its the thought that counts....and here is what my thoughtful friends sent to me (im still waiting for the last one to arrive, and once it does, ill edit the post and post it here...)
No comments this time....i think the cards feel too personal and comments may just ruin the moment this time...so just feel the thoughtfulness and the friendship that comes along with them :)

The cards are posted in order they had been received...

from Essi in Finland

from Katy in Estonia

from Sally in New Zealand

from Valerie in France

from Charlotte in UK

from Carol in USA

from Ula in Poland

from Relie in Singapore
these are actually two Christmas cards, so i posted both of them

from Wendy in Jamaica
Enormous thanks my friends! Its been a pleasure to take part in this and share the Christmas spirit with you :)

*Hugs to you all*
