Giza, Egypt

Yeah, Im still feeling crappy, and im having this terrible headache, and I guess I just had to distract myself from all that...at least for a while...and usually this is my refugee place, if you can call it so.

Staša sent me this card from her trip to Egypt last summer, and I really appreciate it coz even though she didnt have one of the greatest times and had problems all along, she still found the time and the mood to send out some postcards.
Well I think that everyone's first association to Egypt and Giza would of course be the Pyramids.
I suppose this is the Great Pyramid, or also known as Pyramid of Khufu and the Pyramid of Cheops, which is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the& Giza Necropolis.
It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to survive substantially intact. It is believed the pyramid was built as a tomb for fourth dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu (Cheops in Greek) and constructed over a 20-year period concluding around 2551 BC.

both of the stamps are from a set of 6 definitives issued in 2002.

Hi Ana,
That's a nice card from Egypt. That's a country I always wanted to visit. Many years ago I made a promise to both of my sons, that one day the three of us would visit Egypt together. Unfortunately it never happened , my sons are men now with their own sons, but I still have hopes of one day going there with them. I always wanted my picture taken next to one of the pyramids, even though, against the pyramids, I would be quite small. At least I still have the dream.
Take care,
Glenn

I think it will be even a greater experience if you manage to go with both your sons and grandsons!
And I really hope you will....it's really great to have dreams to live for, but its even better to fulfill them :)
