Arizona, USA

A really great Arizona card dear Carol sent me.

What comes to attention here is the Spider Rock, which rising at 800 feet, is a dramatic remnant of the plateau surrounding it. In Navajo myth, Spider Woman carried naughty children to the top of Spider Rock.

Arizona itself is full of canyons, from grand to small. Canyon de Chelly is in extreme northeast Arizona on the Navajo Indian Reservation. Tourists can travel up the canyon on horseback or in 4-wheel drive vehicles, with a Navajo Guide. Native people still live in the canyon tending sheep and cultivating dry land crops.
The Navajo Reservation is the largest Indian reservation in the US, 65000  km2!

thanks a lot to Carol for the info.

and here come some stunning stamps where the two on the left were actually issued back in 1964 and its just unbelievable to see that they are still in use. The first one shows Shakespeare! While the other one shows Sam Huston..
As for the two lovely vibrant ones...they come from a m/s of 10 stamps called Kelp Forest. The whole sheet itself is just amazing...you can take a look at it here.
