Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

well well well...time to dust it off here a bit, dont you think? huh, could it be that more than a month has passed since the last update? I mean, yeah, I know that things didnt go as planned with my updates and that there have been some delays...but just now i realized how long it has actually been...i suck at New Year resolutions, so im not gonna make any about the frequency of updates...speaking of that, I hope you all had had nice holidays...belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all, and I hope that in  2013 your mailboxes will be properly fed and never hungry...and God forbid, starved :)

well, a few cards to kick off the 2013 updates....not much for after such a long time maybe, but better something than nothing...esp. since my first card today is my first written and stamped one coming from Zimbabwe!!

...and it shows the amazing Victoria Falls!! Though I still for some reason have a problem processing it in my head that they are located in Zimbabwe (ok, more precisely on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, on the Zambezi river - can so many "Z"s lead to a confusion?!).
If out of nowhere you tell me about the Victoria Falls, my initial idea is  Canada or Australia...why exactly, I cant tell for sure...might be the Niagara Falls, and how i get to hear much more often about them...or that Australian state of Victoria, for which again I seem to hear/read more often than the falls in Zimbabwe...hopefully, after this postcard, if I ever go on the "Who wants to be a millionaire" and one of the questions is "Where are the Victoria Falls located", I can without a doubt give the right answer :)
well, another great thing about the Victoria Falls, which are also known as "The Smoke that thunders" is that they are also a UNESCO whs, so one more to cross out from that never-ending list!
It is said that there are more tourists on the Zimbabwean than on the Zambian one, but if you happen to be in one of the countries, if you want, you can get a single-entry visa on both borders...I mean, if you happen to be there, it is a pity to miss such a chance to have two stamps in the passport :)

heh, I like that 'Victoria' on the cancellation...perfectly matches the card! As for the stamp, it is a part from a set of 10 birds' definitives, issued in 2005
