Krk, Croatia

I have a number of postcards from Croatia, but this is my first one coming from Krk..

Krk is the name of a Croatian town, situated on the island of Krk.
The city is ancient and among the oldest in the Adriatic. It has been continuously inhabited since Roman times and was once part of the Byzantian Theme Dalmatia after the western empire had fallen to the barbarians. Roman ruins can be seen today in some parts of the town, for example mosaics in the houses.
The city was also once known for its unique Romance language called Vegliotic, which was spoken till the early 19th century.

Havent been here, but i would really love to one day...
