Old Road, Antigua and Barbuda

Here is another country to tick off the list...and its a fairly hard to get one, so im very proud to own it in my collection....and its all thanks to Glenn.... one of the greatest contributors to my postcard collection!

The back of the card says: A flamboyant tree overhangs the rural landscape at Old Road.
Btw, you should know that "Antigua" is pronounced "Antee'ga"...and not literally as its written (and as i personally thought as well). As for Barbuda...thats pretty ok :)
Antigua and Barbuda are located in the middle of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean, roughly 17 degrees north of the equator.
These are separate islands, but as a territory, they are one.
Another thing....Old Road doesnt refer to the road you see on the card (as i personally thought...)
Old Road is actually the name of a village....it is located in the Parish of Saint Mary and is an integral and significant part of the tourism industry. Old Road is located right by the Atlantic Ocean which falls on the south of the town. It is said that the nature here is at its very best.

Well, i really like the red blossoms on the branches...looks so nice against the green colour....and it seems to be a really tranquil place....just perfect enough for me...and too far away :)

I love this post card and reminds me of my stays there. It's a beautiful place and would recommend anyone who loves history, not so much people traffic, and of course the sea this is the island to visit. I was fortunate to live live like a local both times so taking in the sites, sounds, and tastes was one of the best vacations I ever had.
