Notice!

Hello everyone!
Just wanted to make a small post and tell you that im not sure when the next update (along with the Uzbekistan card) would be able to see the light of day. I had got some severe back pain today and everything i do is followed by enormous pain in my back...i cant move properly, cant lean forward, cant sit, cant stand...basically, i feel incapable to do many stuff...sitting at the pc, typing is also not pleasant...not to mention that my focus is totally distracted...
I also wanted to ask you if you have any advice about conditions like this....massages? ointments? Any sort of helpful suggestion would be welcome...i may have to go to the doctor's as well, but first i wanted to see if i can work this out in some more natural way...i know rest is a must, but so far, it hasnt been much helpful, coz the condition remains the same...
Thanks a lot in advance to everyone! And hopefully, will see you soon at the updates....

Oh no, get well soon! You should go do a doctor for advice, because sometimes massages can make it worse. Let us know what happens!

I hope you'll feel better soon... And I agree with Marsupial, you should go to the doctor, because you never know what's the reason and you may make things worse by trying to treat it yourself :( Well, I know it's hard, because the last time I went to any doctor was in 2004, but sometimes it's neccessary :(

Get well, Ana!

I am sorry to hear about it.
Maybe hot compress could help you a bit to feel less pain.
Hot compress is like a gel patch containing a substance to reduce pain or swelling.
But it is NOT the solution, so you should go to the doctor anyhow to get correct advice<3

I'm so sorry Ana. :( I hope you are able to get well with lots of rest; however, my roommate recently had a very similar problem and she ended up having to take steroids to clear up her problem, which was a slipped disk in her back. I would definitely see a doctor, because your back is very important and you want to take good care of it. :)

Hope you are feeling well, soon!!
The right solution to your back problem depends on what the problem *is.* Most of my back problems are solved by a chiropractor, though I have seen physiotherapists and massage therapists in the past.

Ouch! Call your Doctor, and in the meantime try lying down flat on a firm hard surface with a heating pad.

So sorry about your back. My husband used to lay flat on the floor, middle of the back touching the floor. When he was able to get up and move about, he would lay on the bed on his stomach and pull his feet up, holding them with his hands. He no longer has back aches.....I think it was the weight he was carrying at the time.

Feel better ... I too have a bad back and I see a chiropractor .. but the best advise is . lay flat on your back, knees elevated .. walk as much as possible and DO NOT SIT!

Ice is helpful in the first 12 hrs but after that it doesnt help .. again .. lay down knees up or walk .. and take anti-inflamatory meds like ibuprofen will help.

I just wanna say a HUUUGE thank you to everyone who came here, for all your kind words and wishes and advice...you people are just lovely!
I feel a bit better today, i managed to walk to the post office and back! :) but i still have pain and still cant sit/stand properly...i got some ointments which somewhat warm up the skin and relax the muscles and the whole back...that was good...i was against a massage, mainly as some of you also mentioned, i dont want to make it worse and that they press some spot they shouldnt and i feel even worse afterwards.
as for the doctor's..still havent been...i have a reluctant feeling each time i need to go to one...mainly coz i know that he cant help me immediately and will tell me to rest and give me pills and ointments...i thought of seeing a chiropractor....for some reason i believe it may be more helpful than a doctor...in the meantime, i try to take care of myself and lay on flat hard surface...its amazing how good it feels while lying down..i feel no pain, nothing...the fun part comes when i need to get up...thats a whole exhibitionism :)

Again, thanks everyone!!! I hope ill be able to get back to the posts soon...

Depending on where the pain is you may find it easier to sleep if you lie on your side with one bent in an upside down L shape, and a pillow tucked under it.
Good luck
Evelyn
