Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) is rightly called the Prince of the Flemish art of painting. As a court-painter of the archdukes Albrecht and Isabella, in Southern Netherlands, and moreover as a diplomat he often kept company with royal and noble people. Now his masterpieces decorate many museums, churches and palaces all over the world. In his magnificent mansion in Antwerp, he was host to many prominent guests
